Teacher Cover Letter

  Real Writing Jobs

A Teacher Cover Letter is used by teachers when submitting a resume to a new teaching position. Teachers should be aware that overlooking this step can be detrimental in the hiring process. Further, neglecting the teacher cover letter quality can be just as bad as not submitting one at all. Some schools do not require a teacher cover letter be submitted with a resume so if this is the case, it can be omitted.

If the school does require a cover letter for teacher’s resumes, be sure to include your permanent contact information, college of graduation, teaching accolades and rewards, and the class and grade level experience that is possessed. For a cover letter, be sure not to go into too much detail as this should be reserved for your actual resume. The cover letter should only highlight your most relevant information to the teaching position that you are applying for. If you are a new teacher that is fresh out of college, you should include your area of expertise during your education major. This would include relevant classes and any extracurricular tutoring or education workshops that you attended. An example of this is if your focus was mathematics during your college major, you most likely would not apply for a physical education teaching position.
